Batcha’s death: focus back on 10-year old case

COIMBATORE: The suspected suicide of realtor A M Sadhick Batcha, the man who according to the CBI knew too much about jailed former Telecom Minister A Raja’s 2G scam money trail, has revived memories of a similar tragic incident that had rocked Tamil Nadu nearly a decade ago.

In mid-July 2001, Ramesh alias ‘Anna Nagar’ Ramesh, a civil contractor better known in political circles as the “lucky mascot” of DMK heir-apparent M K Stalin, was found dead along with his wife and three children, including an 11-month-old baby, at his bungalow in Chennai.

Remnants of a soft drink bottle and an insecticide container found inside the house in Anna Nagar suggested that it was a ‘family suicide’. What is intriguing is the striking similarities in the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Batcha and Ramesh, except that in the latter case an entire family had perished.

Just as Batcha was being pursued by the CBI on account of his close links with Raja, the Chennai police was allegedly after Ramesh in an extortion complaint filed by contractor Deivasigamani in which Stalin, then the Chennai Mayor, was cited as a beneficiary. Ramesh was the one who drove Stalin’s campaign jeep during the elections that year.

Like Batcha who was introduced to Raja by Varahur Arunachalam, an AIADMK leader; Ramesh too was close to AIADMK veteran S D Somasundaram before winning the confidence of Stalin.

Strangely, in Ramesh’s case a suicide note was found containing undertones similar to the one conveyed in the letter purportedly left behind by Batcha.

While Batcha’s note defends Raja, in the suicide note ‘written’ by Ramesh, he appealed to then Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa “to intervene and tell the police not to foist false cases on ordinary people like me. My wife and I took this decision ten days ago and we are implementing it now. We think it is better to end our lives than face these cases and be labeled in the press as one who received commissions.”

Another stark similarity is that for some strange reason both the suicide notes were ‘recovered’ several hours after their deaths were reported.

CHENNAI: Voter slip distribution order puts off officials

CHENNAI: The Election Commission’s announcement to distribute voter slips (booth slips) to about 4.5 crore voters in the state by its own staff has upset the government staff who have been deployed for election work. They said that they were already overburdened with the ever-increasing quantum of election work.

Distribution of booth slips was a mammoth exercise that was practically impossible given the staff strength, they added.

For instance, in Chennai, which has 16 constituencies with about 32 lakh voters, the District Election Officer (in this case, the Chennai Corporation Commissioner) has only about 3,200 staff at his disposal.

Moreover, the voter slips would have to be distributed ahead of the polls on April 13, leaving them with a tight deadline.

The workload of the field-staff, which has already increased over the past few days, could increase further in the coming days once filing of nominations by various candidates begin. Besides the pressure of meeting deadlines, the distribution of booth slips was a physically strenuous exercise that would add to the stress levels of the staff.

According to an estimate, the Election Commission (for the city alone) would be spending lakhs of rupees to print the 32 lakh voter slips.

இலங்கையின் வடக்கே வன்னிப்பிராந்தியத்தில் இடம்பெற்ற யுத்தம் முடிவுக்குக் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டு இரண்டு வருடங்களைக் கடந்துள்ள போதும் அதனால் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள வடுக்கள் இன்னும் மறையாமல் இருக்கின்றது.

சிறிலங்கா அரசின் மனிதாபிமான நடவடிக்கை என்ற போர்வையில் இடம் பெற்ற கொடிய யுத்தத்தின் பலனாக நாம் தற்போது பல துயரங்களை சுமந்து நிற்கின்றோம்.

யுத்தத்தின்போது ஒரு இலட்சத்திற்கு மேற்பட்ட தமிழ் மக்கள் கொல்லப்பட்டுள்ளனர். பல்லாயிரக்கணக்காண பெண்கள் விதவைகளாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

ஆயிரக்கணக்காண உறவுகள் காணாமல் போயுள்ளனர். அதுமட்டுமின்றி ஆயிரக்கணக்காண மக்கள் தங்களின் அங்கங்களை இழந்துள்ளனர். மக்களின் வீடுகளும்,உடமைகளும் அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இது தான் இலங்கை அரசின் மனிதாபிமான நடவடிக்கை எம்மக்களுக்கு கொடுத்த பரிசு. இது ஒருபுறமிருக்க வன்னியில் இடம் பெற்ற யுத்தத்தினால் ஒவ்வொருவரும் ஏதோ ஒரு வகையில் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

ஆனால் மாந்தை மேற்கு பிரதேசச்செயலாளர் பிரிவுக்குட்பட்ட ஈச்சலவக்கை கிராமத்தினைச்சேர்ந்த முருகவேல் நிஸாந்தன்(வயது-22) ஏற்பட்ட யுத்த பாதிப்பு கொடூரமானது.

மக்கள் யுத்தத்தின் தாக்குதலின் இருந்து தம்மை பாதுகாத்துக்கொள்வதற்காக ஒவ்வொரு இடமாக மாறி மாறி சென்று கொண்டிருந்தனர்.

அதன் போது நிஸாந்தன், அவருடைய தாய் முருகவேல் செங்கம் மற்றும் நிஸாந்தனின் சகோதரர்கள் மூவர் உட்பட ஐந்து பேரும் இடம் பெயர்ந்து சென்று கொண்டிருந்த போது 03-07-2007 அன்று புளியங்குளம் பகுதியில் இடம் பெற்ற செல் தாக்குதலின் போது நிஸாந்தன் படுகாயமடைந்தார்.

ஏனையவர்கள் சிறு காயங்களுக்குள்ளானர். நிஸாந்தனுக்கு செல் தாக்குதலின் போது இரண்டு கையினையும் முழங்கையுடன் இழந்ததோடு இரண்டு கண்களினதும் பார்வையினை முற்றாக இழந்துள்ளார். நிஸாந்தனின் தந்தையான முருகவேல் ஏற்கனவே சுகவீனமான நிலையில் மரணமானார்.

பின் நான்கு பிள்ளைகளையும் தாயாரான செங்கம் பராமரித்து வந்துள்ளார். தந்தையற்ற நிலையில் பிள்ளைகளை எவ்வித குறையுமின்றி பாதுகாத்து வந்த போதும் இந்த கொடிய யுத்தம் எனது மகனின் வாழ்வை நாசப்படத்தி விட்டதாக செங்கம் புலம்பிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றார்.

தற்போது நிஸாந்தனை பராமரிப்பதற்கு யாராவது ஒருவர் அவர் அருகில் எந்த நேரமும் இருக்கவேண்டும் என தெரிவிக்கின்றார் தாயார் செங்கம்.

உழைத்து வயதான என்னையும் சகோதரர்களையும் பராமரிக்க வேண்டிய வயதில் கொடுமையான யுத்தத்தில் எனது மகனை முடமாக்கி எங்கும் செல்ல முடியாதவாறு ஒரு இடத்தில் ஒதுக்கிவைத்துள்ளதாக தாயார் கண்ணீர் மல்க தெரிவிக்கின்றார். அதுமட்டுமின்றி யுத்தத்தினால் எங்களது வீடும் முற்றாக பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

நாங்கள் அங்கு வாழ முடியாத நிலை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. பாதிக்கப்பட் எனது மகனுக்கு அரசாங்கத்தினால் எவ்வித உதவிகளும் சரியான முறையில் இதுவரை வழங்கப்படவில்லை. எனினும் எனது மகனுக்கு இரண்டு கைகளையும் பழைய நிலைமைக்கு கொண்டு வர முடியாது.

ஆனால் இரண்டு கண்களில் ஒரு கண்ணுக்காண பார்வையினை ஏற்படுத்த முடியும். ஆனால் அதற்கானபணத்தினை எங்களால் செலுத்த முடியாது.

எனவே வாழ்க்கையில் பலவற்றை இழந்த எனது மகன் நிஸாந்தனுக்கு கண் பார்வையினை ஏற்படுத்த எம் உறவுகள் முன்வந்து பங்களிப்பினை செய்யுமாறு தாயார் வேண்டுகோள் விடுக்கின்றார்.

அது மட்டுமின்றி பழைய நிலைமைக்கு வராவிட்டாலும் கண்பார்வையினை பெற்று எனது தாயாருக்கான சிரமத்தை சற்று என்னால் குறைக்க முடியும் என நிஸாந்தான் நம்பிக்கை தெரிவிக்கின்றார்.

PERAMBUR'S PRIDE: MLA who rides into his electorate's hearts

SOME voters of Perambur constituency in Chennai are angry as the free colour TV sets never reached their homes. Also, they are perturbed over the ever-increasing price rise, but still they won't mind voting for the sitting MLA in the coming elections.It is not just because K Mahendran, the MLA, belongs to the CPM, but because he has established a personal rapport with the people.
That the CPM, which won the Perambur seat as an ally of the DMK in 2006, is now in the Opposition camp has as such given an edge to any candidate who might be fielded by AIADMK-led front for the April 13 elections.
The people openly say Mahendran is better than their earlier MLAs. Popular in view of his simplicity he goes around the constituency in a motorcyle Mahendran lends his ears to every grievance.
"We have to just a call him on the mobile, he will be there on the spot within next 15 minutes," says K Rajendran, a painter from Kakanji Nagar, adding that most residents in the locality have the MLA's mobile number.
Naming the earlier DMK MLAs of the constitency, Rajendran says that none visited them.
A 60-year-old vegetable seller, Malika, says that five years ago the locality used to witness at least two murders every month and adds that things had changed now. Mahendran is known to drop in at tea shops and have a cuppa with workers. "
He visits this tea shop at least once in a day and chat with us" says Parthasarathi, a daily wage labourer of Sharma Nagar. The tea shop owner Kumar says that the MLA will insist on paying for the tea even if he refused to take money.
It is that personal touch that Mahendran had brought to his job as MLA that has endeared him to a cross-section of people. He makes the people feel that he is part of their family by attending functions in their homes.
"He will be there without fail at every funeral," says Sekar of BV Colony.
So people have developed a liking for him cutting across party affiliations. "I am a traditional DMK voter, but Mahendran stands above party politics," says R Mohan, a retired co-operative staff.

CHENNAI: Poll duty of staff to hit Corporation revenue collection

CHENNAI: The Chennai Corporation is most likely to miss its property tax collection target of Rs 360 crores for 2010-11 as its revenue department staff, who used to work extra time during March to collect taxes from taxpayers, have now been moved to poll-related works.

Contrary to the usual surge in tax collection during March (being the last month of a financial year) every year, it has in fact dwindled as the civic body’s revenue staff were occupied in poll-related works for the last two weeks.

Besides the average collection of property tax of about Rs1.5 crore per day during the other months, Corporation used to collect about Rs 50 to 60 crore during March alone. 


But, being an election year and the revenue staff given the additional task of conducting Assembly elections in city, the tax collection has been hit badly and the month’s collection has not even exceeded the Rs 10-crores mark in the first 15 days, sources said.

Though the property tax collection was well on course till January, the mega exercise of Census in February and election-related work in March, where the revenue department staff were fully utilised, have hit the collection of late.

While admitting the tax collection has indeed slumped since February due to additional tasks for its staff, Corporation Commissioner D Karthikeyan said that the civic body was very much on track to surpass the target by the month-end.

“We are planning to send e-notices to 30,000-odd taxpayers who have defaults of over Rs10,000 in a couple of days and it could make them pay on time,” Karthikeyan said.

About two weeks ago, the civic body for the first time sent such e-notices to 40,000-defaulters by a centralised database from and the response from the taxpayers was good, he added.

Now anti-DMK buzz from mosquitoes, manja

CHENNAI: That the fatal slash of a ‘manja’ thread on a child’s  neck brought out the political stirring in relatives at a tragic moment and the annoying sting of mosquitoes buzzing around in millions has turned into an anti-incumbency issue are signs of the DMK getting fumigated in Chennai’s Assembly constituencies in the April 13 elections.

“My child wouldn’t have died if Amma was in power,” rued a parent of four-year-old Serena Bhanu, who was killed on Sunday by the ‘manja’ thread used for kite flying. Even the relatives of Serena, who had gathered at the Egmore Children’s Hospital, said such a tragedy would have never happened under the AIADMK, pointing to the popular perception that law and order had deteriorated after the DMK came to power.

They may have a point. For, kite-flying in Chennai was banned back in 2006. “The police never bothered to implement the ban,” said Syed Sheikh Mohammad, father of Serena, recalling that a policeman was injured by manja thread a few months ago. “The police never cracked down on the  kite-flyers as there was no political will,” said the relatives of the girl.

Lack of political will is also cited by many people for the Chennai Corporation’s failure to contain the mosquito menace, despite the claim that high-powered fumigators are doing their rounds. “This time of the year, the mosquito menace should have been less, but it is not,” they argue.

So, have the mosquitoes descended on Chennai this year, ahead of DMK’s rivals launching their campaigns, highlighting the 2G spectrum scam, only to ring the death knell of the DMK rule?

      சமூக ஆர்வலர் ஒருவர் ஆற்றிய உரை: தங்கள் வாழ்க்கையில் நடைபெற்றுள்ள மிக முக்கிய நிகழ்வுகளைப் பட்டியலிட்டு, அதற்கு உதவியோரை வரிசைப்படுத்துங்கள். பின்னர் அவர் எந்த சாதியைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் என்பதைக் குறிப்பிடுங்கள். அதில் தங்களுக்கு உதவியோர் பெரும்பாலானோர் வேறு சாதிகளைச் சேர்ந்த நண்பர்களாகவே இருப்பர். எனவே சொந்தக்காரர்கள் பெரும்பாலும் அதிகம் உதவியதில்லை. எனவே சாதிகளை மறந்து விட்டு மனித நேயத்தை வளர்க்க பாடுபடுங்கள் என முடித்தார்.  
      1906-ல் ஆங்கிலேயரின் ஏகபோக வணிக முறையைக் கண்டித்து சுதேசி கப்பல் கம்பெனி மூலம் தூத்துக்குடி-கொழும்பு இடையே கப்பலோட்டினார் வ.உ.சி. இதனால் கோபமடைந்த பிரிட்டிஷ் அரசும் பயணக் கட்டணத்தை ஒரு ரூபாயாக குறைத்தது. இதனையடுத்து சுதேசி கப்பல் நிறுவனமும் தனது கட்டணத்தை 50 பைசாவாக்கியது. பிரிட்டிஷ் கப்பல் நிறுவனம் பயணத்தையே இலவசமாக அறிவித்தது. விளைவு,  சுதேசி கப்பல்கள் காலியாகச் சென்றன. பெருத்த நட்டத்திற்கிடைய 1909-ல் சுதேசி கப்பல் கம்பெனி திவாலாகியது. 
     கோயம்பத்தூர் சிறைச்சாலையில் செக்கிழுத்த வ.உ.சி நான்கரை ஆண்டுகளுக்குப் பிறகு வெளியே வந்தபோது அவரை வரவேற்க வந்தவர்கள் சுப்பிரமணிய சிவா உள்ளிட்ட இருவர் மட்டுமே. சொத்துக்களை, வழக்கறிஞர் உரிமத்தை இழந்து தன் வாழ்நாளின் இறுதி கட்டத்தில் அன்றாட வாழ்க்கையை நடத்துவதற்கே போராடி 1936 நவ.18-ல் வ.உ.சி. மறைந்தார்.
     1800-களின் தொடக்கத்தில் கொங்கு நாட்டின் பாளையக்காரர்களாக இருந்து  ஆங்கிலேயர்களை எதிர்த்தார் தீரன் சின்னமலை. ஏராளமான இளைஞர்களை ஒன்று திரட்டி பிரெஞ்ச் நாட்டின் ராணுவப் பயிற்சி பெற வைத்தார். இதே காலகட்டத்தில் திப்பு சுல்தான் தனது மைசூர் படை மூலம் ஆங்கிலேயர்களை எதிர்த்துப் போரிட்டபோது அவருக்கு தனது படையுடன் பகிரங்கமாக உதவியவர் சின்னமலை. திப்புசுல்தானைத் தோற்கடித்த ஆங்கிலேயர் தீரன் சின்னமலையையும் பழிதீர்த்தனர்.  காவிரியில் வெள்ளம் பெருக்கெடுத்து ஓடும் ஆடிப் பெருக்கு தினமான 1805  ஜூலை 31-ல் சங்ககிரியில் தீரன் சின்னமலை தூக்கிலிட்டப்பட்டார்.
    முதல் இந்திய சுதந்திரப் போர் துவங்குவதற்கு 50 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பே வீரபாண்டிய கட்டப்பொம்மன், மருது பாண்டியர் உள்ளிட்டோர் ஆங்கிலேயர்களை எதிர்த்துப் போராடினர். 1789-ல் 12 ஆயிரம் வீரர்களைத் திரட்டி ஆங்கிலேயரின் கூட்டாளியாகச் செயல்பட்ட ஆற்காடு நவாபை மருது பாண்டியர்கள்  விரட்டியடித்தனர். கட்டப்பொம்மன் தூக்கிலிடப்பட்ட பிறகு தப்பி வந்த ஊமைத்துரைக்கு அடைக்கலம் வழங்கினர். இதனையடுத்து ஆங்கிலேயர்கள் மருது பாண்டயர்களை வீழ்த்தினர்.  மருது சகோதரர்கள் தூக்கிலிடுவதற்கு முன்பு கூறிய வரிகள் இவை: நண்பர்களுக்காக போராடினோம்....நாட்டிற்காக உயிர் துறக்கிறோம்.
     எட்டையபுரத்தில் சுப்பிரமணியனாகப் பிறந்து குறுகிய காலத்திலேயே தேசியக்கவி எனப் போற்றப்பட்டவர் பாரதி. தனது பாடல்கள் மூலம் தேசப்பற்றுவை ஊட்டி வளர்த்த பாரதி வறுமையில் வாடினார். 39 வயதில் பாரதி மறைந்தபோது இறுதி ஊர்வலத்தில் பங்கேற்றவர்கள் வெறும் பதினான்கு பேர் மட்டுமே.
      பசும்பொன் கிராமத்தில் பெருநிலக்கிழார் குடும்பத்தில் பிறந்த முத்துராமலிங்கத் தேவர் ஆங்கிலேயர்களின் அநீதிகளை எதிர்த்து இறுதிவரை போராடியவர். தான் பதவி வகித்த தொகுதியில் ஒரு தலித் சமுதாயத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவரை நிறுத்தி சட்டமன்ற உறுப்பினராக்கினார். ஆயிரம் ஏக்கருக்கும் மேற்பட்ட நிலைத்தை தலித் சமுதாயத்தினருக்கே தானமாக வழங்கியவர்.  மதுரை மீனாட்சியம்மன் கோவிலில் தலித்துகளை அழைத்துச் சென்று ஆலயப் பிரவேசம் செய்தவர் தேவர். 
      விருதுநகரில் பிறந்த காமராஜர் தமிழகத்தில் பொற்கால ஆட்சியை வழங்கினார். 12 ஆயிரம் பள்ளிகளை 27 ஆயிரமாக உயர்த்தி கல்வியில் சிறந்த மாநிலமாக மாற்றியவர். சென்னை ஐ.ஐ.டி,  திருச்சி பெல், நெய்வேலி என்.எல்.சி, வைகை, சாத்தனூர், கீழ்பவானி, மணிமுத்தாறு, அமராவதி உள்ளிட்ட அணைகளை கட்டியதால்தான் தமிழகம் இன்று தலைநிமிர்ந்து நிற்கிறது.  பிறந்த ஊரிலேயே தேர்தலில் காமராஜர் தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்டார்.
     மேலூர் தும்பைப்பட்டி குக்கிராமத்தில் தாழ்த்தப்பட்ட சமுதாயத்தில் பிறந்த பி.கக்கன், சட்டமன்ற,மக்களவை உறுப்பினர், பொதுப்பணி, விவசாயம், காவல் உள்ளிட்ட துறைகளின் அமைச்சராகப் பரிணமித்தவர்.  அரசியலில் நேர்மைக்கு எடுத்துக்காட்டாகத் திகழ்ந்த கக்கன் 1967 தேர்தலில் தோற்றுப் போனார். பின்னர் அரசியலில் இருந்தே ஓய்வு,  வறுமையில் வாடி இறந்து போனார்.
      மேலே குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளதியாகத் தலைவர்கள், அண்ணா, பெரியார், ராஜாஜி, எம்.ஜி.ஆர் போன்றவர்கலெல்லாம் கோலோச்சிய தமிழகம் சாதீய கட்சிகளின் பின்னால் செல்லும் நிலைமை. ஒரே சாதிக்கு பல கட்சிகள். அந்த பல கட்சிகளும் எதிர் எதிர் அணியில் கரம் சேர்ந்து தேர்தலைச் சந்திக்க உள்ளன. தேர்தல் தோல்வி பயம் கொடுப்பதால் தி.மு.க., அ.தி.மு.க-வும் அவர்களைச் சேர்த்துக் கொள்ள போட்டி போடுகின்றன.
    தற்போதைய நிலவரப்படி விடுதலை சிறுத்தைகள்-புதிய தமிழகம்,  மூவேந்தர் முன்னேற்றக் கழகம், மூவேந்தர் முன்னணிக் கழகம், கொங்கு முன்னேற்ற பேரவை-கொங்கு இளைஞர் பேரவை, பா.ம.க-வன்னியர் கூட்டமைப்பு, மனித நேய மக்கள் கட்சி-முஸ்லீம் லீக், சமத்துவ மக்கள் கட்சி-பெருந்தலைவர் மக்கள் கட்சி என ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட சமுதாயத்திற்காக போராடுவதாகக் கூறும் இவர்கள் வரும் தேர்தலில்  முண்டாசு தட்ட தயாராகிவிட்டனர். புதிய நீதிக் கட்சி, புரட்சி பாரதம் போன்ற கட்சிகளுக்கு இதுவரை இதயத்தில் மட்டுமே இடம் கிடைத்துள்ளன.
     முன் பத்திகளில் குறிப்பிட்டுள்ள தலைவர்கள் வாழ்ந்தபோது தங்கள் சாதியினரை முன்னிறுத்தியது இல்லை. நேசம், நாட்டுப்பற்று, தியாகம்தான் அவர்களின் இதயத்தில் கோலோச்சி இருந்தன. நாட்டின் சொத்தாக விளங்கக் கூடிய தியாக சீலர்களை எல்லாம் சாதி கண்ணோட்டத்தில் கொண்டு வருவது அவர்கள் வாழ்ந்த வாழ்க்கை, செய்த தியாகங்களை எல்லாம் கொச்சைப்படுத்துவதாகவே இருக்கிறது.
சாதி அமைப்புகள் இருக்க கூடாது என்பது நம் வாதம் அல்ல. பதவியை அடைய குறுக்கு வழியாக சாதிகள் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது. அதற்கு ஏற்கனவே உள்ள பெரிய அரசியல் கட்சிகளும் துணை போகின்றனவே என்பதுதான் எதார்த்தவாதிகளின் கவலையாக உள்ளது. 
      சமுதாயப் பணிகளில் எப்போதும் அரசியலை அனுமதிக்கக் கூடாது.  சமுதாய உதவி என்பது முதலில் குடும்பத்திலிருந்து துவங்க வேண்டும்.  வசதியில்லாத அண்ணன், தம்பிகள், உற்றார், உறவினர்களுக்கு வசதி படைத்தவர்கள் உதவிட முதலில் உதவிட வேண்டும். பின்னர் அவரது கிராமம், இதர ஜாதியினர் என படிப்படியாக உதவி செய்தாலே அனைத்து சமுதாயத்தினரும் உயர்ந்திட முடியும். மற்றபடி அரசியலில் ஈடுபட்டுத்தான் அவர்கள் சார்ந்துள்ள சமுதாயத்திற்கு சேவையாற்ற முடியும் என்பது ஏற்கத் தக்கதல்ல என்கிறார் ஃபோகஸ் அகாடமியின் நிர்வாகிகளில் ஒருவரான எஸ்.சங்கரவடிவேலு.
    தமிழகத்தில் நகரத்தார்கள், ஜைன, கிருத்தவ, இந்து மிஷன்கள் போன்றவை ஓசையின்றி பல்வேறு அறப்பணிகளை நீண்டகாலமாகச் செய்து வருகின்றன. இவைகள் மீது சாதி முத்திரைகள் குத்தப்பட்டிருந்தாலும் கூட அவர்களின் சேவையில் அது ஒரு போதும் எதிரொலித்தது இல்லை. சமுதாயத்திற்கு சேவை செய்தே ஆகவேண்டும் என விரும்பும் சாதீயக் கட்சிகள் இது போன்ற அமைப்புகள் மூலம் சேவையைத் தொடரலாம்.  ஒரிரு தொகுதியில் வெற்றி பெற்று எம்.எல்.ஏ-வாகி, ஒட்டுமொத்த சாதிக்காரர்களை முன்னேற்ற முடியும் எனில் அந்த சாதியைச் சேர்ந்த, அரசியல் கட்சிகள் மூலம் பதவியில் இருந்த நூற்றுக் கணக்கான எம்.எல்.ஏ-க்கள் செய்யாதது ஏன்?. சமுதாய வளர்ச்சிக்கு அரசியல் பதவி மட்டுமே பயனளிக்காது.
       மேலே குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளவர்களை ஒரு நிமிடம் சிந்தித்துப் பாருங்கள்.  எதிர்காலத்தில் தங்களை முதலியார், ஐயர், தேவர், கவுண்டர், நாடார், வன்னியர், நாயுடு என கொச்சைப்படுத்துவார்கள் என தங்கள் கனவில் கூட நினைத்திருக்க மாட்டார்கள்.  அந்த மாமனிதர்கள் தமிழத்திற்கு சொந்தமானவர்கள். அவர்களை சாதீய முன்னோடிகளாக்கி கொச்சைப் படுத்த வேண்டாம் என்பதே பெரும்பாலோரின் வேண்டுகோள். ஜாதி இரண்டொழிய வேறில்லை. ஏழைகள்- பணக்காரர்கள் என்பதுதான் அது.
      சாதி வேற்றுமையைச் சொல்லி தேர்தலில் வெற்றி பெற்றவர்கள் எல்லாம் மாற்றுச் சாதியினரோடு சென்னையிலும், டெல்லியிலும்  கொஞ்சிக் குழாவுவதும், அவர்கள் வீடுகளில் லட்ச ரூபாய் விலையுள்ள உயர்ரக நாய்கள், மீன்கள் வளர்க்கப்படுவது எல்லாம் குக்கிராமத்தில் இருக்கும் சாதீயத் தொண்டனுக்குத் தெரியவா போகிறது?. அதுதான் அரசியல்வாதிகளின் பலமே.
